"This product solves a problem I've had for 20 years of riding recumbents. When I wear regular pants in town, I'm always fearful about getting grease on them. My wife shares her frustration frequently. Small pants bands only gather the pants to keep them from getting into the chain. This leg shield covers the entire exposed pant leg which is especially handy when I make a quick shift and the chain flops around. Great idea. While I'd also like a reflector tape, the black blends in with most of what I wear and will also hide the grease marks. The Velcro is easy to adjust to my leg and thickness of the pants I wear."

"For commuting to work, this product works great at keeping my pants clean and out of the gears. Easy to put on and take off, it only takes about 10 seconds to velcro it around my lower leg. It's very comfortable, and a couple of times I forgot to take it off my pant leg as I barely noticed it was there.

I tried using rubber bands and hair bands around my cuffed pants, but those broke or didn't fit right. This does the trick if you want quick and comfortable protection of your pants."

"A few months ago I sent the following message directly to one of the designers of this product: "When I first received the pant strap, I was honestly a bit skeptical that I would like it. I didn't know if it would be any better than simply rolling up my pant leg. Now that I have used it for a couple weeks (and my commute is now a bit longer after moving apartments), I really like it a lot, and use it everyday. Especially when I put the strap on loose, it allows much more free leg movement than rolling up the pant leg, because rolled pants can constrict movement. The Leg Shield does not wrinkle nice dress pants like rolling them would.

Now that I have used the leg shield for months, I have learned another great feature: it is also great for the wintertime! Instead of riding to class or work with one leg freezing cold because I had one pant leg rolled up, my rides are now quite comfortable.
